Proud of You "ISRO" for giving India its own Satellite based navigation system


India on 28th April 2016 created history and entered an exclusive membership of five countries that have their own Satellite navigation and positioning system with the launch of 7th and last Satellite "IRNSS-1G".

The Prime Minister Modi said, the new service will be known as "NAVIC" as a mark of tribute to courageous Indian Seafarers.

IRNSS is much like the worldwide positioning system (GPS) of the usa (24 satellites), Glonass of Russia, and Galileo of Europe, in addition to China’s Beidou. The 44.4-metre and 320-tonne Polar satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C33) which carried the satellite tv for pc gadget blasted off at 12.50 pm on Thursday from the Sriharikota space station, approximately a hundred km from this town. Simply over 20 minutes into the flight, at an altitude of 497 km above the earth's floor, the satellite turned into separated and injected into transfer orbit. Its life is anticipated to be approximately 12 years.

The primary satellite , IRNSS-1A, was released in July 2013, the second in April 2014, the third on October 2014, the fourth in March 2015, and the fifth and sixth on January 20 and 7th Navigation Satellite IRNSS its own GPS.

Services

The IRNSS will give two sorts of services — standard situating benefit and restricted service. The previous is given to all users and the last is a scrambled administration for approved users.

According to ISRO officials, the overall cost of all the seven satellites was Rs 1,420 crore.

Satellite Missions

When the "NAVIC"  becomes operational in about a month's time, It would offer services like terrestrial and marine navigation, disaster management, vehicle tracking and fleet management, navigation aid for hikers and travellers, visual and voice navigation for drivers.
